Growing Opportunities for Maine-Sourced Food is a consortium effort organized in 2015 under the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce – Biz Action Committee and led by the Orono Economic Development Corporation (OEDC). Other participating partners include Bangor Area Food Council, City of Bangor, Good Shepherd Food Bank, City of Old Town, Town of Orono, and University of Maine.

The consortium engaged Maine Farmland Trust to conduct research about the viability, feasibility, and sustainability of a food hub in the Bangor area to serve wholesale markets.
